I think people forget that Japanese people eat lots of other types of cuisine other than Japanese food: French, Italian, and Chinese are top favourites. Life expectancy isn't just about diet but other things in Japan contribute towards this high life expectancy: a kickass medicare system, relatively hardy mental health, cultural expectations of taking care of the elderly, etc.

1. You should eat throughout the day instead of 3 big meals. your body then knows its going to get food. Healthy Snacks :D throughout the day, and exercise. Its not hard. Your body will begin to burn more fat, it wont hold on to much. lol

@marcin97 You are right, Americans are the fattest---I didn't mean to suggest that they weren't. But the Japanese diet is much more westernized than she states and they do eat their fair share of fast food. They are not nearly so "lean and mean" as commonly assumed. In addition a significant percentage of Japanese females suffer from anorexia and bulimia (actually more so than the US) which can be an even bigger problem.
